Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) Scandal
What is scandal? according to some dictionary, it means a disgraceful event.
What is disgraceful? It means giving offense to moral sensibilities and injuries to reputation.
Is the January 3 operation activity at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) to a 39-year-old homosexual guy considered as a scandal? I do not know!
I felt pity to this guy when he answered questions made during the interview last night
at the Abs-Cbn TV Patrol Cebu.
This is the perfume canister that was stuck in the patient’s anus. (click picture to enlarge)
Naks! i am hoping that those nurses or doctor will be terminated in the said hospital
and will be blacklisted to all hospitals including in the other country.
They do not show their Work Ethics..tsk2x
This must be tackled and soon release an equal JUSTICE!

i agree! what is even more sad is that the hospital only created a fact finding committee after it was all over the media. they should not aonly be terminated, their licenses should be terminated by the PRC. such a disgrace to our country and the medical profession

I was totally shock when I knew about this unprofessional acts of Medical students and practitioners. I hope this will be investigated deeply and the those involved will be presecuted according to law. I heard a lot of medical professionals in TV’s radios and even in the internet that for those perpetrators their medical license and insurance ( doctors & nurses ) should be cancelled or revoked for them not be able to practice thier profession even abroad as a consequence of what they did. My question is, If they did this to the person, probably they already did this to other persons who just did not react or complain about it…So, The Fact finding Investigators of our Gov’t, Other Private Medical Institutions ( not Vicente Sotto Hospital )should dig deeper on this anomaly. Dapat lang “summary dismissal” sa lahal ng mga medical staff na kasali doon sa operating room. Di sila dapat bigyan ng pagkakataong mamiminsala pa sa buhay ng iba. Kahit pa sabihing tumulong sila sa “physical” eh mental torture and effect doon sa pasyente. Let’s all unit to have all these medical staff terminated at pawalng bisa ang mga licenses nila. Baka problema pa yan at kung sa ibang countries madala nila kahayupan nila.
I pitty the guy for what they did to him. Lets see if these doctors and nurses can show off their privates on u tube. That will be a treat.
the doctors and medecal staff did not only disgrace the hopital but also their profession. SHAME ON YOU!!!! they should not only be terminated & stripped off their license but also be persecuted!!!! They are different compared to a criminal…
They confirmed it, as what the TV show Desperate Housewives made a joke about Philippine doctors. In one scene Mayer said, “Can I check those diplomas ‘coz I just want to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines.”

everyone present during the operation should be fired! the doctor and staff should be stripped off of their licenses!
mga putang inang mga doktor at nurses na yan. mga walang konsyensya.. putangina!! nag aral ba talaga yung mga yun?? punyeta nuknukan ng kababuyan yang mga tao na yann. kahit sa hayop hindi sila pwede ikumpara… sobrang sakit ng dibdib ko nung nkita ko yan sa news.. grabe ginawa nila sa patient. hindi enough na i revoke lng license nila. kailangan panagutan nila yung trauma na ginawa nila sa pasyente. putangina nila kahit buong kayamanan nilang lahat i reward sa patient hindi enough yon.. dapat ma revoke license nila magbayad sila ng milyong milyong piso at i silya elektrika na sila.. bago i silya elektrika saksakan muna ng bote ng coke 1.5.. tangina.. ganyan ba kasama ugali ng mga pinoy..

how sad.. if nothing is done on this issue, the whole medical profession in the Philippines is in danger zone…

i’m a nurse too but as far as i’m concerned i think it’s really unfair that patient’s surgery to be shown world wide. i still remember when i was still a nursing student, doctors and nurses are really strict to us.. they don’t even allow us to just have a peek on our cellphones. and as part of being a student we have also broke some rules regarding taking pictures inside the operating room. but we aren’t taking pictures of the patients.. we would just like to take our own photos inside the operating room. i feel sorry for that patient for having a well-known case. i really think that every person regardless of the profession should learn how to respect a person especially when it comes to delicate matter like what that person has..
Kaya pala ganun na lang kababa ang tingin sa atin ng mga banyaga… tapos, nagagalit sila sa writer ng Desperate Housewives?!?!?! I agree, Sepulcher and Mark. Tama nga yung writer ng show!
my best friend is a nurse, i really asked her isn’t part of your oath taking to is respect privacy and confidentiality of your patient? isn’t it part of your code of conduct and the ethics of your profession? i don’t really have much idea on the medical profession on what are there rules and what they are oath to be but we all know in every job, profession or whatever company we are into, there is always rules to be followed. And confidentiality and privacy is the most important one for a customer to trust the compay.
Even if its your personal life your most cared and valued thing is your privacy. I hope they realize how important it is to respect ones individuality and privacy….

Good Luck to all those medical practitioner! Tell you, guys! I was once a victim of this kind of medical disrespect, awesome (i should say…) attitude of these people who are in medical fileds! It happened at Holy Child Hospital in Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros when i had my kidney operation, although there was no video or picture-taking (i’m not quite sure, if ever there was and/ or none at all) ….my organ has a tatoo which is suppose to be confifidential in all manner! And after.., when i’ve recovered from anesthesia effect, the people that visited me tease and joke at me about my tatoo! they told me that it was the nurse who attended my operation told them about my tatoo! —–that’s ridiculous! Will somebody help me please to run after this nurse to give her a lesson so with this hospital?! Holy Child Hospital, Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros.

this is a disgrace and damaging to all of us filipinos health professionals! these bunch of idiots dishonored decent filipino health professionals around the world. who have work so hard and are devoted to this field of work. i say revoke their licenses and not let those other fools involve to graduate. shame on you! i hope the government should do something about it coz this shameful act has leaked out all over the internet.
