This 59th installment of Miss Universe is 4th time for ABS-CBN (Philippines) to cover (watch) Live in television. On August 23, the pageant will crown the Miss universe 2010 so with the 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up , 3rd Runner-up and 4th Runner-up. But of course, the Judges will choose the Top 10 and Top 15 during the competition.

Moreover, as expected by lots of viewers, hailing of the Pageant’s Best in Swimsuit (swimsuit Competition), Best in Evening Gown (Evening Gown Competition) will also be done, don’t forget the Best woman who will answer on the Question and Answer Portion.

And as what Miss Philippines always get during this kind of contest is the special award in the title of Miss Photogenic. These kind of special award will also be awarded together with Miss Congeniality and Best National Costume.

These mentioned awards, acknowledgement and recognition will be revelead during the Pageant Night at Las Vegas Nevada. So stay tune for more updates.

  3. I am eagerly anticipating the Pageant, although I am not sure if there would be a live broadcast of it here in Germany where I now reside.

    I hope and pray that our Miss Philippines would get the crown and glory this time; it has been a while since we had it.

    By the way, I don’t mean to demean my fellowmen, but I wish that we, Filipinos, would be much more grammar-conscious when it comes to the English language. We are the only nation in Asia that use it predominantly in business, schools, media, and even in casual conversations along with our native tongue.

    I am saying this because I have read of and heard so many of us using this important language with lots of grammatical error, just as can be spotted in the above-written article:

    – The most waited announcement
    >>> should be: The most AWAITED announcement

    – Best in Swimsuit (swimsuit Competition), Best in Evening Gown (Evening Gown Competition)
    >>> This is redundant. Omit “Swimsuit Competition” and “Evening Gown Competition”.

    – Best woman who will answer on the Question and Answer Portion.
    >>> should be: who will answer DURING the…

    – And as what Miss Philippines always get during this kind of contest is the special award in the title of Miss Photogenic.
    >>> Miss Philippines is singular, so use: always GETS…

    – These kind of special award will also be awarded together with Miss Congeniality and Best National Costume.
    >>> You are referring to the Miss Photogenic Award, so use: THIS kind of special award…

    It’s a shame that we have in decades degraded this skill of ours.

    Also, why is it that Filipinos love (and seem to be proud of) being shown in other countries as poor/miserable, violent/criminals/spammers, corrupt,and cheap? I know these are realities but don’t we deserve to give more emphasis on our good and glimmering attributes as a nation? Where has our greatness gone to?

    Sorry, but if you guys are in a foreign land, you would feel hurt and insulted at how Westerners view us. Nakakahiya.

    I think it is high time that we make our country and nationality great once again!
