Kraft Cheez Whiz Palamantasan Revolutionizes Proper Nutrition

A screenshot of Palamantasan website,

I remember when I was in Elementary, every during the month of June, our teachers used to collect 5 pesos from each of their students and this did not exclude me and what is the purpose? To buy ingredients and other cooking requirements for a Sospas (rice porridge with chicken meat). Actually, this is how public schools celebrated or culminated the Nutrition month of June. This is not new since this is common to Philippine schools most especially in barrio or rural areas. It is nice to hear the good news that Nutrition advocacy has step up in different level through the help of Kraft Cheez Whiz Palamantasan.

Last Saturday, July 17, 2010 was a not-to-be forgotten event for a Cebu blogger like me. I attended the Kraft Cheez Whiz Palamantasan School Eliminations. It was more than a Nutrition Month activity, I witnessed group of talented kids, students who are competing for some contest categories such as Jarchitecture, Essay writing, Cheering Competition and Sabayang Pagbigkas which basically give opportunities to students in showcasing their skills and intelligence. But how can a Filipino graders enjoy and proudly present their abilities if in the first place, they are lack in proper Nutrition?

That is why Kraft Cheez Whiz, one of the most-loved cheese brands in the country in partnership with the Department of Education has come up with Palamantasan–the first interschool competition among grade school students nationwide in a quest for nutrition education. In Lapu-lapu Central Elementary School, trough the help of Kraft Cheez Whiz dubbed as Palamantasan ng Sarap, successfully discovered the talents that Cebuano kids had as they awarded the winners of the specified contests.

  3. Alright. Through a series of many questions I have learned that my diet of fruits, veggies, cottage cheese, yogurt, and protein shakes is very unhealthy. Will someone give me a balanced plan of what exactly i should be eating at each meal to have essential nutriton, enough calories to work out, and also help my lose weight?
