Discovering Cebu: Olango Island

Last Sunday [August 09] bugITs-Author was very excited for his first ever island hopping experience in his life and hell ya! he LOVED and ENJOYED it!

Yes, as what everyone had reviewed and said, Olango Island is still the secret treasure that Cebu has kept. It is situated five kilometers east of Mactan Island and is a major tourist destination in Cebu. The island is under the jurisdiction of the City of Lapu-Lapu and is known for its wildlife sanctuary.

My Experience

Early as 5-6 AM, i did my ride going to Lapu-Lapu City. I did met Prince’s High School Barkada whom i will be going to share my enjoyment with this Island Hopping event. It was a great activity since all are for free.. hahahha I am treated with free Boat ride, free foods, free drinks, free swimming and free ALL. Thanks to Tittam, boyfriend of Honey, who is behind for all of this delectation.

As i noticed, lots of visitors and foreigners invaded Olango that time. I saw some Koreans wearing their swimsuits (hahahha, naughty me!). Also, i just knew from our Hopping guide that some of the kids who know how to swim used to be the swimming guide of these foreigners. The funny thing during snorkeling, people who hired these kids will just look below and these kids will served as their Kalesa.

In the East part of the island (i really don’t remember, is it at east or west), we parked the boat and had some snacks and eating session. I jumped down and visited that part of the island. It was tranquil eventhough swimmers and islanders added jolliness to the island.

Generally, Olango Island is an Island nearest to Cebuano’s heart.
